    MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital, which provides a vital lifesaving link to rural communities in Clayton County and surrounding areas through ambulance and emergency services. MercyOne is committed to providing quality, personalized and safe health care close to home.

     

    The emergency department is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week with board certified physicians and advanced level practitioners who are well-trained to treat emergency needs. MercyOne Elkader Medical Center is certified as a Level IV Trauma Center by the Iowa Department of Public Health.

     

    Join the MercyOne Elkader family! We are looking to hire a Radiology Student!

    As a Radiology Student at MercyOne Elkader, you will:

    + Perform a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related functions

    + Be responsible for assisting members of the patient care team and providing a broad range of health care services such as: exam review, preparation for the visit, patient education, assistance with exams and procedures, and patient transporting

    + Train to use a wide variety of radiographic equipment, computers, and software

    + Be assigned to work in a variety of imaging sections, assist multiple radiology modalities and /or clinical services per operational needs

    + Be able to resolve conflict and endure the pressures associated with a constantly changing work environment

    + Assist with exams on adults, geriatric patients, adolescents, and pediatric age groups and performs patient assessment within the scope of practice

    Schedule** **:

    + Per Diem

    + Varied hours

    **Requirements** :

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Must be enrolled as a 2nd year student in an accredited Radiologic Technology program with current participation in radiology classes and clinical rotations or be board eligible

    + Must be ARRT certified within 1 year of completion of radiologic technology program

    + Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within 6 months of hire and every 3 years thereafter

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) will be required within 3 months of hire and every 2 years thereafter
