    **Job Title:** Cobol/SAS Developer

    **Location:** Addison, TX (5 days a week onsite)

    **Pay Range:** $80hr W2 (Cannot work Corp to Corp)

    Summary:

    Our client, a leading financial services organization, is seeking a Cobol/SAS Developer to join their team. As a Cobol/SAS Developer, you will be part of the IT department supporting critical legacy systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.

     

    What's the Job?

     

    + Design, develop, and maintain applications using COBOL and SAS within a z/OS mainframe environment.

    + Write and optimize JCL scripts for batch processing and job scheduling.

    + Develop and maintain DB2 data structures, SQL queries, and data access logic to support business needs.

    + Analyze and resolve production issues, including abends and performance bottlenecks, ensuring system stability.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and support system upgrades and migrations.

     

    What's Needed?

     

    + 8+ years of experience in COBOL and SAS programming.

    + 5+ years of hands-on experience with DB2 in a mainframe environment.

    + Strong knowledge of JCL, IBM utilities, and REXDB2 utilities (e.g., LOAD, UNLOAD, REORG).

    + Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on performance tuning and optimization.

    + Experience with debugging tools such as Xpediter and Abend-AID, and source control systems like ISPW.
