The Workforce Development Council is seeking two Program Managers to oversee Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) and Computer Science (CS) engagement programs with an emphasis on increasing awareness and opportunities for STEM education throughout the state. The successful candidate will have significant education and/or experience in K-12 informal education or STEM related fields, demonstrate experience managing or leading a large-scale program, strong knowledge of the stakeholders in STEM education. Skills related to communication, event-planning, partner coordination, budget and project management, data-tracking, evaluation tools and virtual collaboration platforms are highly valued for this position.
Note: This position is non-classified and is not subject to the State of Idaho's classified personnel system.
Job Responsibilities:
+ Manage programs including i-STEM professional development and i-STEM lending libraries, Idaho Science and Engineering Fairs (ISEF), and the EcosySTEM contract (STEM Program Manager)
+ Manage Computer Science related activities aligned with agency initiatives and partner collaborations including Code.org regional partnership, computer science advocacy, and CS education efforts in collaboration with CTE, SDE, and national coalitions (CS Program Manager)
+ Partner with Idaho universities to support state science fairs
+ Support professional development events such as Educurious, Advancing STEM Research Training Program, and the Waypoint Conference, and many others (Both positions)
+ Monitor and report on project metrics, program impact, and success stories in coordination with the research and data team (Both positions)
+ Represent the STEM Action Center and Idaho Workforce Development Council at conferences and events at the state and national levels (Both positions)
+ Manage professional development credit setup and distribution (Both positions)
+ Develop and maintain collaboration tools to ensure stakeholders have access to innovative STEM education resources (Both positions)
Minimum Qualifications
+ At least three (3) years of experience providing technical expertise or managing a major program related to education or advocacy for education, learning and development, and professional development that included external communication or industry outreach.
+ Some knowledge of management practices (typically gained by completion of some coursework or training that covered all essential elements of management - planning, leading, organizing, controlling- OR at least 2 years of work experience that included the all the essential elements of management)
+ Ability to travel within the geographic area of the United States.

+ At least five (5) years of experience
