Job Title: Welder

Job Description

We are seeking skilled welders to join our team in creating barges using Flux Core Welding on Mild Steel. Your role will involve using various welding techniques, including MIG and TIG, and interpreting blueprints while collaborating within a team under supervision.

Responsibilities

+ Perform Flux Core, MIG, and TIG welding on mild steel to fabricate barges.

+ Interpret and follow blueprints accurately for welding tasks.

+ Collaborate effectively with team members and work under the guidance of a supervisor.

+ Ensure quality and precision in welding tasks through attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in Flux Core, MIG, and TIG welding.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Experience with welding techniques such as Tack, Fitting, and Stick welding.

+ Knowledge of working with stainless steel, carbon steel, and structural steel.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ A minimum of 3-6 months of previous welding experience.

+ Capability to pass a weld test during the interview process (1-5F).

Work Environment

The position requires working outdoors in a hot environment. Safety is paramount; therefore, steel-toe, ankle-high leather boots, long sleeves, and pants are mandatory. Protective measures include no piercings or contact lenses due to welding smoke exposure. The available shifts are Monday to Friday, 6am-3:30pm for the 1st shift and 3:15pm-12:45am for the 2nd shift.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashland City, Tennessee.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.30 - $21.30/hr.
