Job Title: Process Technician
Job Description
The Thermoforming Process Technician is responsible for operating specialized machinery tailored for high-end retail and medical packaging needs. This role encompasses tasks such as pre-staging, setup, operation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of thermoforming machines and equipment, along with routine preventative maintenance. The Technician ensures products meet visual standards and customer specifications through in-process inspections and necessary adjustments. A profound understanding of machine practices and process control is vital, as Technicians typically manage 1-2 machines and coordinate with the 1st shift operator, supervisor, and leads during shift changes.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain clean and orderly work stations, machines, and equipment, ensuring high levels of housekeeping and adherence to 5S standards.
+ Monitor machines for mechanical issues through visual and auditory inspection, take corrective actions, assist in problem-solving, and notify appropriate personnel.
+ Ensure correct stock and materials are used and properly located by machines.
+ Conduct machine line setup, lineout, and troubleshooting for production runs.
+ Perform machinery start-up and shutdown procedures.
+ Develop machine set-up parameters and heat profiles for production runs.
+ Conduct in-process inspection of parts to ensure they meet visual standards of acceptance and conformance.
+ Recognize product defects and make necessary equipment adjustments.
+ Review and maintain required logs, check sheets, inspection sheets, and work orders.
+ Assist in overall maintenance of machines and equipment, including minor repairs.
+ Complete preventative maintenance on machines, troubleshoot malfunctions, and call for repairs as needed.
+ Calculate dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of tooling and equipment based on specifications.
+ Ensure all materials, tooling, and master tooling are properly labeled, segregated, and returned pre- and post-production.
+ Perform pre- and post-production tool inspections and preparations, tool installations, and removals.
+ Communicate job status and production issues to next shift Process Technicians, Leads, and Supervisors.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with thermoforming, injection molding, or plastics is preferred.
+ Troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing environment.
+ Knowledge of packaging and mold processes.
+ Ability to perform line setup and production tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or equivalent.
+ Experience in maintenance repair and production line setup.

Work Environment
Work in a very clean environment with 18 thermoforming lines, catering to both retail and medical customers. The facility is divided into North and South sides, with one side dedicated to medical packaging.

This is a Permanent position based out of Bensenville, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58240.00 - $83200.00/yr.
