Job Title: Structural Design Engineer

Job Description

As a Structural Design Engineer, you will manage long-term projects to completion while ensuring they remain within budget. You will review the work of designers and subcontractors and verify the accuracy of drawings. Collaborating with subcontract engineering and design firms is also a key component of this role. You will layout proposed systems using customer drawings and survey data, preferably involving concrete foundations, and travel to job sites to provide technical advice and gather design information. Additionally, you will assist in evaluating, testing, and improving company systems.

Responsibilities

+ Manage long-term projects to completion within budget.

+ Review work of designers and subcontractors and check drawings for accuracy.

+ Collaborate with subcontract engineering and design firms.

+ Layout proposed systems using customer drawings and survey data, preferably with concrete foundations.

+ Travel to job sites to provide technical advice and gather design information.

+ Assist in evaluating, testing, and improving company systems.

Essential Skills

+ Proven working experience as a Civil Project Design Engineer.

+ Three years’ experience in civil design work, specifically designing concrete foundations.

+ Excellent knowledge of AutoCAD, STAAD, and Inventor design software.

+ Advanced MS Office skills.

+ Excellent time management and organization skills.

+ Ability to travel about 10% to 20% primarily in North America.

+ Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in structural engineering, mechanical design, and structural design.

Work Environment

This role may require travel approximately 10% to 20% of the time, primarily within North America. The position involves working with advanced design technologies such as AutoCAD, STAAD, and Inventor software. The work environment emphasizes collaboration with design and engineering firms, requiring a balance of independent work and teamwork. Professional attire is expected when visiting job sites.
