Construction Quality Assurance (QA) RepresentativeOverview
We are seeking a Construction Quality Assurance (QA) Representative to support Customs and Border Protection (CBP) in the execution of construction projects along the U.S. borders. This role involves oversight of construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and supporting project execution from initiation through closeout.
The ideal candidate will have a background in construction management, strong communication skills, and a proven ability to solve problems creatively and effectively.
Responsibilities
+ Maintain daily surveillance of field engineering activities on major construction projects.
+ Provide guidance on safety and quality assurance; ensure compliance with safety regulations.
+ Review contractor schedules for logic, adequacy, and milestone feasibility.
+ Evaluate contractor payment estimates and progress reports.
+ Prepare daily activity reports detailing instructions, weather, progress, delays, and issues.
+ Ensure adherence to environmental Best Management Practices.
+ Support outreach efforts and assist the construction oversight manager and Government COR/Project Manager.
+ Analyze problems and interpret plans/specifications.
+ Monitor work layout and inspect ongoing construction activities.
Qualifications
+ Experience: 3–10 years in commercial and/or civil construction.
+ Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
+ Substitutions:
+ + 6 years of work experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
+ Associate’s degree plus 4 years of experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
+ Minimum 3 years of construction oversight experience, preferably in horizontal construction.
+ Experience reviewing technical data, preparing pay estimates, and enforcing safety standards.
Preferred Certifications
+ OSHA 30 Construction
+ Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP)
+ Construction Quality Management (CQM)
+ EM 385-1-1
Skills & Tools
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
+ Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Autodesk).
+ Strong oral and written communication skills.
+ Problem-solving and stakeholder engagement abilities.
+ Ability to manage multiple projects with independent schedules and budgets.
+ Willingness to travel between job sites as needed.
Additional Requirements
+ Work location: Primarily El Paso, TX.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen .
+ Ability to pass a government background investigation (financial, criminal , residential, educational, foreign affiliation, substance use, and employment verification).
+ Active CBP background investigation preferred.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
