    Job Description

    Join our dynamic Engineering team as a Civil Engineer PE, where you will independently engineer and design site development projects in collaboration with Professional Engineers and CAD Designers. Our design-build firm in NE Indiana takes pride in delivering a comprehensive 'field to finish' design-build product for site development.

    Responsibilities

    + Research and coordinate with respective jurisdictions regarding regulations for stormwater, sanitary, electrical, and gas services to the site.

    + Oversee and prepare associated permit applications, Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plans, Stormwater Management Plans, grading plans, and design of temporary and permanent structures such as channels, culverts, infiltration, detention, and retention structures.

    + Prepare and supervise proposals, budgets, schedules, calculations, specifications, and reports, and provide technical training and guidance to less experienced staff.

    + Review proposed contracts to determine significant parameters, time schedules, and milestones, and define major task areas.

    + Resolve problems and coordinate the final turnover of the project to the client throughout the project.

    + Ensure contractual commitments are met, maintaining effective relationships with all divisions and departments responsible for project services.

    + Control and review all project forecasts, schedules, cost estimates, and reports, ensuring quality control over the project.

    + Monitor fees and budgets, reporting problems to the appropriate Department and Division Managers.

    + Prepare or direct the preparation of progress and special reports to staff and clients.

    + Obtain client's acceptance of work and coordinate completion of final project paperwork.

    + Be actively involved in civic and professional activities, societies, and organizations.

    + Ensure all work is performed safely and responsibly, in accordance with the company Health and Safety Plan.

    + Act as a positive representative of the company and its core values.

    + Meet deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering field.

    + 5-10 years of experience in site/civil design.

    + Active PE License in the state of Indiana.

    + Experience in construction document preparation and hydraulic modeling.

    + Proficiency with software such as HydroCAD and WinSLAMM.

    + Strong technical writing skills.

    + Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites, complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements.

    + Previous leadership experience and project management skills.

    + Familiarity with Civil 3D, Land development, and Construction management.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + If not already obtained, ability to acquire an Indiana PE license within 6 months of starting.

    + Ability to conduct site visits as needed.

    Work Environment

    This role is based onsite at the facility, with occasional field site visits. The work environment is primarily office-based, and the position requires client-facing interactions. The civil team consists of five professionals, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Permanent position based out of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
