Job Title: Phlebotomist - Woodburn, OR
SHIFT: Tues-Thur 9am-6pm & Fri/Sat 8am-5pm
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join a busy third-party clinic in Portland. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent patient care and possess a strong understanding of phlebotomy procedures.
MUST HAVE
+ Phlebotomy certification
+ At least 6 months of phlebotomy experience
+ Customer service experience
+ Ability to understand and follow physician's orders
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Eagerness to learn and take feedback well
+ Positive and hardworking personality
+ Proven reliability and positive attendance
Responsibilities
+ Greet patients as they enter the lab and provide excellent customer service.
+ Perform blood draws using straight needles and butterfly needles.
+ Label and store specimens according to established procedures.
+ Explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process clearly and courteously.
+ Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes and ensure 100% accuracy.
+ Centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
+ Package specimens for transport, ensuring proper handling and storage.
+ Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual department training.
+ Answer telephone inquiries and provide laboratory results.
+ Prepare the collection site, handle insurance and billing, and process samples.
Work Environment
The work environment is within a strong team culture with opportunities for growth and movement into different departments. Contracts are typically set for 3-6 months with the potential for extension. Candidates may occasionally be asked to work at nearby locations. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.46/hr.
