    Assignment Type:

    Contract – 12 months (with potential to extend)

     

    Schedule: 3 days/week, 4 hours/day

     

    Estimated: 5 blood draws per day

    Job Description:

    We are Looking for a compassionate and skilled Phlebotomist to support a 24-month research study focused on Alzheimer's disease, funded by a research grant. This is a part-time contract role for an initial 12-month assignment, with the potential for renewal.

     

    The Phlebotomist will work on-site at the Neuroscience Building in Newark, NJ, performing blood draws and engaging with older adult research participants. The ideal candidate is experienced, patient, and comfortable working in a clinical research setting with elderly individuals.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Perform venipuncture and blood collection procedures with accuracy and care

    + Ensure proper labeling, handling, and transportation of specimens

    + Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for each participant

    + Support the research team in adhering to study protocols and timelines

    + Engage with participants in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner

    + Follow all clinical safety, privacy, and compliance guidelines

    Qualifications:

    + Certified Phlebotomist with at least 1–2 years of experience

    + Previous experience working with elderly or cognitively impaired patients preferred

    + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

    + Detail-oriented, punctual, and reliable

    + Comfortable working in a research or academic setting

    + Retired nurses or professionals with related clinical experience are encouraged to apply

    Compensation:

    + Competitive hourly rate based on experience

    + Contracted part-time role (12-month initial term)

    **Pay Details:** $25.00 per hour
