    MAJOR DOD OPPORTUNITY: Systems Engineer III

    Job Description

    Engage in a variety of systems engineering activities, including Concept of Operations Formulation, Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, System and Operational Performance Analysis, Lifecycle Cost Analysis and Estimation, and Decision Analysis and Resolution. This role requires independent work on systems engineering projects, providing solutions to complex problems efficiently.

    Responsibilities

    + Serve as a sole systems engineer on small projects or as a member of a team for larger projects.

    + Provide solutions to a variety of systems engineering problems of moderate complexity.

    + Interact daily with supervisors, peers, and occasionally with outside customers.

    + Exchange factual information and provide guidance to entry-level staff.

    + Support systems engineering subject matter experts in developing technical and managerial recommendations affecting cost, schedule, and risk.

    + Exercise independent judgment and work under limited direction.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in MagicDraw and modeling tools.

    + Understanding of the systems development lifecycle and the role of systems engineering throughout.

    + Detailed knowledge of systems engineering competencies.

    + Intermediate knowledge of at least one customer domain.

    + Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience or a Master's degree with 6 years of experience.

    + 2-4 years of direct systems engineering experience preferred.

    + Active Secret clearance.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Master of Science in Systems Engineering from an ABET-accredited university preferred.

    + Experience with DOORS and/or other requirements database tools.

    + Understanding of DoD acquisition processes and methods.

    + Experience with DoD programs.

    + OMG Certified System Modeler Professional (OCSMP) certification.

    + INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification (ASEP or CSEP).

    + Collaborative mindset and open communication skills.

    + Flexible and open-minded attitude.

    Work Environment

    This position is fully onsite, working at a corporate location near Midtown. It is a 6-month contract-to-hire position with standard work hours from 8 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Huntsville, Alabama.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $60.00/hr.
