Job Description

We are seeking a skilled welder to perform Flux Core Welding on structural steel, ensuring compliance with shop drawings and blueprints. The role involves operating welding equipment, conducting quality checks, and maintaining welding equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Perform Flux Core Welding in compliance with shop drawings and blueprints.

+ Operate FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding) equipment effectively.

+ Conduct quality checks on welds and make necessary corrections.

+ Inspect and maintain welding equipment.

Essential Skills

+ 5+ years of welding experience in a heavy industrial setting with structural steel.

+ Proficiency in Flux Core Welding and the ability to pass the AWS D1.1 3G weld test using FCAW.

+ Strong ability to interpret shop drawings and specifications independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with multiple welding processes, including MIG, TIG, SAW, and GTAW, is a plus.

+ Experience in an AISC-certified shop environment is preferred.

+ Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

+ High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical or trade school certifications are a plus.

Work Environment

This position is based in a shop environment within a heavy industrial steel fabrication facility, which is not climate controlled. The team consists of 57 members at the Coatesville site, including 20-25 welders along with fitters and fabricators. The dress code includes coveralls, jeans without rips, t-shirts or sweatshirts, and steel-toed boots. Working hours are Monday through Friday, 5am-3:30pm. Personal protective equipment such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and respirators are provided.

This is a Contract position based out of Coatesville, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $28.00/hr.
