Manufacturing Lead
Job Description
The Manufacturing Lead plays a crucial role in our operational team, responsible for overseeing crews and executing various tasks related to the formulation and movement of products, raw materials, and other commodities. This position involves operating packaging and formulation equipment in production to optimize output and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
+ Lead a team in packaging formulated products and formulating raw materials into finished products.
+ Operate and maintain packaging and formulation equipment.
+ Conduct online maintenance of all production-related equipment.
+ Ensure adherence to safety rules and procedures.
+ Set up equipment, troubleshoot, perform system cleanouts, and handle product changeovers.
+ Complete production paperwork and identify quality control issues.
+ Develop run plans and train team members.
+ Perform quality assurance tests.
Essential Skills
+ Experience as a mixer operator and production technician.
+ Proficiency in formulation and quality control.
+ Ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform preventive maintenance.
+ Leadership and teamwork capabilities.
+ Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
+ Attention to detail and reliability.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Three years of production/manufacturing experience.
+ Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot.
+ Experience with process improvement and chemical mixing.
+ Lift truck operator certification.
+ Capability to use packaging machinery and operate electronic controlled equipment.
+ Knowledge of pumps, valves, and pneumatics.
+ Ability to pass an OSHA respirator physical.
+ Math skills and bilingual ability preferred.

Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position in Des Moines, Iowa, operating on a 1st shift schedule from Monday to Friday, beginning between 6am-7am for an 8-hour shift. The work environment is within a manufacturing plant, involving proximity to moving equipment and potential exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and biological hazards. Protective gear, including uniforms, steel-toed boots, and hair nets, will be provided, and employees are required to shower after each shift. The Formulation team consists of 2-3 members, and the Packaging team comprises 4-8 members.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $29.00/hr.
