    Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC)

     

    Part-time: 10 hours per week, flexible schedule

     

    Seaford, NY

CEC assists adults in reaching the highest level of independence with the freedom to ASPIRE HIGHER in their hopes, dreams and accomplishments.     We have great opportunities for positive, motivated individuals to work in an OASAS program.

    In this position, you will:

    + Provide case management, substance abuse counseling, and advocacy services

    + Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team to facilitate the client recovery and rehabilitation processes

    + Develops educational topics and facilitates group counseling

    + Maintain case records, updates treatment plans, writes progress notes and psychosocial histories

    We require:

    + Must be certified by NYS OASAS as a CASAC

    + Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in a related field

    + At least 1 year of experience working with chemical dependency and/or mental health experience required including group experience

    + Maintains yearly educational requirements for timely renewal of OASAS credential

    + Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills, both oral and written
