Job Summary and Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Home Health Aides are responsible for providing personal care to home-bound patients and to foster independence as patient/family are able to begin assuming care. It is the responsibility of the aide to ensure that care is provided in a safe environment, utilizing equipment appropriately and as instructed. The Home Health Aide follows a defined Plan of Care and is responsible to document according to departmental policy and procedure.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Requires a current Home Health Aide Certificate.

+ Has the ability to read, speak and write English in order to perform duties of the position.

+ Will demonstrate current competencies and certifications required by Home Healthcare.

+ A current California drivers license, proof of current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

+ Knowledge of must be able to complete a homemaker/home aide competency examination.

+ Knowledge of medical terminology Ability to work as a team member to meet the department goals and objectives.

+ Work effectively under multiple demands and adjust priorities as circumstances required to meet patient or staffing needs.

+ Maintain a high degree of accuracy and precision on a consistent basis in the performance of aide procedures.

+ Treat co-workers, patients, physicians and family members with dignity and respect.

+ Maintain patient confidentiality.

+ Work a flexible schedule and be willing to work additional hours if needed for the provision of quality patient care.

+ Have the ability to physically gain entry into various homes and buildings.

+ Physically able to walk, stand, stoop, lift, drive, get in and out of vehicles frequently, transfer patients, good manual dexterity, visual and auditory ability, withstand unusual heat, cold, rain.

Pay Range

$29.41 - $33.04 /hour
