Sara Walker with Robert Half is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will handle a variety of accounting and administrative tasks, including managing financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the preparation of reports. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to key accounting functions while collaborating across departments to enhance financial operations.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process journal entries for monthly and year-end closings, ensuring all deadlines are met.

• Maintain accurate financial records and provide backup support for essential accounting functions.

• Manage accounts payable by processing invoices, reconciling vendor accounts, and handling vendor inquiries.

• Record accounts receivable payments, reconcile customer accounts, and assist with collections of overdue balances.

• Process manual invoices and address customer inquiries while collaborating with sales representatives on account statuses.

• Record and reconcile bank transactions, including fees and transfers, and assist with cash flow management.

• Support the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.

• Contribute to special projects such as corporate accounting system upgrades and workflow process improvements.

• Perform general administrative tasks, including document scanning, mailing, and data entry.

• Answer customer calls and inquiries promptly and professionally.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in financial reporting and general ledger management.

• Proficiency in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and account reconciliation processes.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and clients.

• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.

• Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to address financial discrepancies and improve processes.

• High ethical standards, integrity, and commitment to delivering quality work.

• Keen attention to detail and effective research skills to ensure accuracy in all financial operations.
