As a Life Actuary intern, you will gain experience in areas similar to the following:

+ Gain knowledge of life insurance products including term, whole life, and interest-sensitive life as well as fixed and payout annuities.

+ Work with actuarial modeling software to update assumptions, run scenarios, and validate model outputs for accuracy and reliability.

+ Compile and analyze data for mortality, lapse, and new business distribution experience studies.

+ Develop controls and trend analyses to support pricing, valuation, and financial planning.

+ Support the company’s reinsurance strategy through monitoring results, researching treaties, and compiling data.

+ Effectively communicate information, suggestions, recommendations, and decisions.

+ Prepare and maintain documentation of methodologies, assumptions, and results.

+ Compile reports, charts, and graphs that describe and interpret findings of analyses.

+ Develop knowledge of actuarial methodologies.
