A Brief Overview
The Assistant Compliance Manager supports the implementation and ongoing management of the Regulatory Compliance Management System. This role is responsible for coordinating compliance activities, monitoring regulatory updates, facilitating training sessions, conducting document reviews, managing regulatory complaints, and preparing reports for senior management. The Assistant Manager also supervises the Compliance Officers team, ensuring effective communication between business units across all regions supporting compliance execution.
What you’ll do
• Assists the Compliance Manager with daily compliance operations to promote efficient workflow and maintain service quality for all business areas within the corporation, including PR, USVI, and Florida marketplaces.
• Contributes to compliance training session materials, tracks attendance, and generates related reports.
• Supervise and monitors the Compliance Officers’ team on matters concerning the implementation of the compliance program and performance strategies. Provides updates on team progress and performance.
• Coordinates compliance activities with Compliance Officers’ team to support timely completion of objectives related to compliance training, marketing, policies and procedures reviews, document reviews, new products, complaints management processes, compliance consultations, and compliance implementations across the regions.
• Prepare compliance-related reports and presentations, including those for compliance and management committees.
• Coordinates and participates in internal audits and regulatory compliance examinations to facilitate the provision of deliverables and action plans.
• Maintains compliance documentation and assists with policy and procedure updates.
• Provides administrative support for corporate projects, regulatory compliance implementations.
• Lead the Compliance Officer’s team to accomplish departmental goals and objectives, while fostering motivation to ensure optimal performance from all team members.
• Introduce new procedures in Regulatory Compliance to enhance business unit support and collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and boost efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Report team progress to management.
• Serves as a liaison between the Regulatory Unit and other departments or business units regarding compliance matters, facilitating communication among all parties.

When needed:
• Acts as a member of the Regulatory Compliance Committee.
• Responsible for developing and preparing all necessary metrics and reports to enhance internal processes.
• Join special projects or assignments given by the Compliance Manager or Director.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s degree in business administration is required, Jurist-Doctor degree is preferred. The incumbent must have eight to ten years of experience in a compliance position in the Banking Industry, a regulatory agency or similar experience is required. Expertise and knowledge of banking operations and applicable regulations is required.
Competencies:
• Computer literate in the use of MS Office (Outlook & Word).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (Spanish and English).
• Ensure accuracy and quality in work.
• Attention to details, addressing customer issues or operational challenges efficiently.
• Awareness of relevant laws regulations.
• Ability to supervise, self-train, research, track, update, and communicate compliance issues.
• Operation Procedure application capability
• Resolve conflicts and issues that arise within the team to maintain a positive work environment.
