Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Estimator with a background in custom fabrication and signage. This role is responsible for analyzing project requirements, interpreting architectural drawings, and preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial signage and custom fabrication projects. The ideal candidate understands materials, fabrication processes, installation logistics, and vendor pricing to ensure estimates are both accurate and profitable.

Key Responsibilities:

-Prepare detailed cost estimates based on architectural drawings, specs, site surveys, and client requirements.

-Perform accurate takeoffs for materials, fabrication hours, subcontracted services, and installation labor.

-Request and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors; maintain a current database of costs.

-Create and submit professional, clearly scoped proposals with timelines, exclusions, and clarifications.

-Identify cost-saving alternatives that meet design intent and maintain quality.

Qualifications:

-3+ years estimating in signage, architectural fabrication, or a related construction/manufacturing field.

-Strong understanding of sign types (channel letters, monument signs, vinyl graphics, etc.) and fabrication methods (metal, acrylic, LED, CNC, paint/finishing).

-Ability to read and interpret construction documents, shop drawings, and site plans. Familiarity with estimating software.

-Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain scope, pricing, and risks clearly.

-High accuracy in estimating, with ability to foresee missing or ambiguous information and ask the right questions.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Background in sign fabrication, construction management, or industrial design.

-Familiarity with ADA signage, electrical codes, and installation logistics.

-Experience estimating both high-volume production and one-off custom jobs.
