    THE ROLE

    The Electrification Engineer supports the design, integration, validation, and product launch of electrified systems and components for Oshkosh’s next-generation of electrified vehicles. This includes the development and integration of high-voltage batteries, electric drive systems, power electronics, charging infrastructure, and thermal management while collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements in new and existing vehicles.

    YOUR IMPACT

    + Assist in the design, development, and validation of high voltage vehicle systems (HV batteries, traction systems, advanced powertrain, power electronics, HV distribution systems and thermal management).

    + Support system integration activities to ensure compatibility with vehicle platforms.

    + Conduct analysis on performance, durability, and thermal performance, safety and reliability.

    + Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements.

    + Utilize analytical and mathematical approaches to calculate or model system performance and optimize designs.

    + Participate in prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting of electrified powertrains.

    + Prepare technical reports, test documentation, and presentations for engineering reviews.

    + Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to evaluate and source new technologies.

    + Collaborate as needed with other engineering or business support disciplines internally as well as suppliers externally.

    + Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory standards related to powertrains and thermal management.

    + Perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks as assigned according to Oshkosh as well as general industry engineering standards and processes.

    + Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues.

    + Enforce the proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures.

    + Perform and direct preparation of layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.

    + Process engineering information through change notices, change proposals, and the creation of thorough print documentation.

    + Provide technical assistance for prototype, pilot or production builds, including resolution of problems in manufacturing.

    + Analyze and resolve issues reported to engineering and communicate status via verbal or written communication.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    + Regular attendance is required.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    + Accredited Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field along with Internship experience or six (6) or more months of related work experience.

    STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

    + Accredited Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

    + Mechanical knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle electrified powertrains and related systems.

    + Understanding of electrified powertrain systems and components (HV batteries, traction systems, advanced powertrain, power electronics, HV distribution systems and thermal management).

    + Internship or co-op experience in automotive, heavy vehicle or equipment, or related industries.

    + Knowledge of engineering fundamentals such as component structure, stress analysis, materials fundamentals, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer.

    + Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

    + Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

    + Experience with Creo or CATIA.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    + **Physical Demands:** Frequent: Standing, Walking/Running, Sitting, Reaching, Hearing, Talking, Visual, Typing; Occasional: Driving, Fine Dexterity, Manual Dexterity; Upper Extremity Repetitive Motion; Seldom: Lifting/Carrying 25lbs., Pushing/Pulling 25llbs.

    + **Non-Physical Demands:** Frequent: Analysis/Reasoning, Communication/Interpretation, Math/Mental Computation, Reading, Sustained Mental Activity (i.e. auditing, problem solving, grant writing, composing reports), Writing.

    + **Environmental Demands:** Frequent: Work Alone, Frequent Task Changes, Tedious/Exacting Work; Occasional: High Volume Public Contact.

    + **Work Schedule:** Routine shift hours. Infrequent overtime, weekend, or shift rotation.

    + **Demands/Deadlines:** Occasional stress due to deadlines or workload because of intermittent or cyclical work pressures, or occasional exposure to distressed individuals within the immediate work environment.

    Pay Range:

    $68,600.00 - $106,300.00

     

    The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
