    How your work would contribute to our organization and the Twin Cities region:

    TheSenior Program Coordinator, Signage & Pylonsis responsible for developing new processes across Metro Transit divisions to successfully manage and support our growing signage and pylon programs. They will be responsible for determining priorities, managing inventory, reviewing and approving plan sets, budget & lifecycle, business process development, and stakeholder coordination and communication around signage & pylons. This position works across departments and divisions to ensure comprehensive planning and maintenance activities are coordinated and aligned to provide accurate, professional, and maintained signage and pylons throughout the region.

     

    This position haspotentialto be eligible for a hybrid (both remote and onsite) telework arrangement. Candidate's permanent residence must be in Minnesota or Wisconsin.

     

    What you would do in this job

     

    Manage inventory of Metro Transit’s Signage & Pylons

     

    + Develop and maintain asset management plan (AMP) for Metro Transit signage & pylons and ensure individual asset management plans align with Transit Asset Management Plan (TAM) and larger planning efforts

    + Integrate signage and pylon inventory data with Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) and supplement gaps with new technology and systems

    + Ensure business unit needs are met by inventory management system, including access to product specification documentation and procurement information

     

    Plan review coordination & approval

     

    + Serve on capital project technical advisory committees and review signage plans for accessibility, consistency and branding.

    + Update and maintain Metro Transit signage standards guide

    + Review and approve signage and pylon plan sets as part of new construction projects, approve changes, and perform final sign-off after implementation to ensure outcomes align with signage and pylon standards

     

    Budget & lifecycle management

     

    + Develop product lifecycle for pylons and all Metro Transit sign types and prioritize lifecycle activities to ensure useful life is reached

    + Lead development of funding requests, ensuring alignment with refresh cycles and upcoming construction projects and build out long-range funding needs

     

    Work plan development, coordination, and prioritization

     

    + Develop annual work plan for signage & pylon projects. Identify resource needs and responsibilities. Obtain leadership approvals across divisions

    + Present to diverse stakeholders, including front-line staff, and executives and drive stakeholders toward consensus in order to advance priorities around signage and pylons

     

    Business process development & oversight

     

    + Develop, document, and refine processes for routine and corrective maintenance and catastrophic damage for signage and pylons

    + Develop standards for issue resolution and lead communication to ensure issues are resolved in a timely and coordinated manner

    + Develop intake process for ad-hoc signage and pylon requests and lead ad-hoc request process

    What education and experience are required for this job (minimum qualifications)

    Any of the following combinations of completed education in Communications, Public Policy, Political Science, Urban Planning, Public Administration, Design, or closely related field AND progressive experience in cross-functional, collaborative program development, or closely related field:

    + High school diploma/GED with eight (8) years of experience

    + Associate degree with six (6) years of experience

    + Bachelor’s degree or higher with four (4) years of experience

    What additional skills and experience would be helpful in this job (desired qualifications):

    + Experience in transit or public-sector work that connects people and processes across maintenance, strategic planning, finance, and capital planning

    + Experience contributing to an equitable, positive, and respectful work environment that values cultural diversity among all employees

    + Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification; or completion of Metropolitan Council’s Project Manager Development Program (PMDP)

    + Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)

    + Lean Six Sigma Certification

    + Knowledge of structural engineering principles

    + Knowledge of signage design principles

    What knowledge, skills and abilities you should have within the first six months on the job:

    You would perform your work in a standard office setting. Work may sometimes require travel between your primary work site and other sites.
