Summary:
The Operating Room Scheduling Coordinator is an integral part of the OR team. This position consists of scheduling surgical procedures, performing clerical work, entering data into the computer system and coordinating with surgical offices under the direction of the Director of Surgical Services and supervision of the Clinical Coordinator professional nurse.
Responsibilities:
Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships with co-workers, physicians, physician offices, other departments, and patients in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital staff.

Qualifications
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
+ High school graduate or equivalent. Medical terminology required. Hospital course designed for clinical secretaries or scheduling secretaries desired.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
+ 1-2 years experience as secretary with medical background.
LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
+ None.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS
+ Required to key or type at least 40 corrected WPM. Knowledge of computer (Word Perfect, Word, Excel). Good telephone skills, good communication skills, ability to work under pressure, good planning and organizational skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
+ Occasionally exposed to BBP (PPE required). May experience stressful work periods.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
+ Sits most of the day, some walking and standing required, frequent reaching, manual dexterity.
