    Job Description

    In order to be considered for this position, a candidate must be serving permanently in the title of Principal Administrative Associate or be reachable on the Promotional List Exam #1507 or Open Competitive Exam #1128.

     

    The Finance Group of Parking Operations is seeking to hire one (1) detail oriented and organized Principal Administrative Associate Level 1 to support the Prepaid Parking/Customer Service Unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing wallet closure refunds, verifying customer information, identifying fraudulent activity, and supporting the customer service team with accurate and timely information.

    Under direction, and with wide latitude for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative, the Principal Administrative Associate will perform tasks including but not limited to the following:

    - Assist with maintaining a comprehensive spreadsheet capturing customer information related to ParkNYC refund notices.

     

    - Research and review wallet closure notices for accuracy, completeness, and potential discrepancies.

     

    - Verify customer mailing addresses using the U.S. Postal Service website; contact customers directly when necessary to confirm or update information.

     

    - Identify and escalate duplicate wallet closure notices or data inconsistencies to the supervisor.

     

    - Conduct follow-ups with customers via phone and email to obtain or confirm missing information.

     

    - Investigate accounts requesting closure for fraudulent transactions or suspicious activity.

     

    - Ensure accuracy in all refund calculations and approvals.

     

    - Update the Customer Care Portal with verified check refund details.

     

    - Prepare refund packages for submission to the Fiscal Unit.

     

    - Maintain and update both the Check Refund and Returned Checks spreadsheets.

     

    - Manage a tracking spreadsheet for all processed wallet closures.

     

    - Assist the customer service team by researching and resolving refund-related inquiries.

     

    - Assist chargeback investigations by compiling and analyzing relevant case information.

     

    - Participate in special projects and prepare ad hoc reports as needed.

     

    Work Location: 34-02 Queens Blvd. LIC, NY 11101

     

    Hours/Shift: 35 Hrs./9:00am - 5:00pm/Monday-Friday

     

    "This position may be eligible for remote work up to 2 days per week, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program agreed to between the City and DC37.”

    PRINCIPAL ADMINISTRATIVE ASSOC - 10124

    Qualifications

    1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience, one year of which must have been in an administrative capacity or supervising staff performing clerical/administrative work of more than moderate difficulty; or

    2. An associate degree or 60 semester credits from an accredited college and four years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience described in "1" above; or

    3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent approved by a State's department of education or a recognized accrediting organization and five years of satisfactory full-time progressively responsible clerical/administrative experience including one year of the administrative supervisory experience as described in "1" above;

    4. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above. However, all candidates must possess the one year of administrative or supervisory experience as described in "1" above. Education above the high school level may be substituted for the general clerical/administrative experience (but not for the one year of administrative or supervisory experience described in "1" above) at a rate of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for 6 months of experience up to a maximum of 3½ years.

    Salary Min: $ 53,370.00
