JOB SUMMARY: The Director, Critical Care, working independently, has the administrative responsibility for fiscal management, human resources, quality improvement programs, planning, organizing, directing, controlling, coordinating and promoting the Critical Care services in the delivery of patient care for the Intensive Care Unit, Telemetry Unit, and Interventional Radiology.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Maintain and interpret clinical registries to manage data that supports clinical quality improvement activities.
+ Facilitates nursing practice advancement by utilizing available outcome data, evidence-based practices, and performance improvement skill.
+ Leads the Nursing Practice Council to promote nursing professional practice by standardizing nursing and clinical care based on evidenced-based nursing practices.
+ Provide support to staff nurses and leaders in planning meetings, analyzing data, leadership-building skills, and expectation needed for councils to be successful.
EDUCATION AND RELATED EXPERIENCE: Required:
+ BSN and/or Bachelor’s Degree required.
+ Current Massachusetts RN licensure.
+ Minimum of 5 years experience in the Medical/Surgical and Critical Care areas of an acute care hospital
+ Minimum 3-5 years unit management experience
Preferred:
+ Master’s Degree in nursing or healthcare administration
