Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Cardiac Residency-Trained Pharmacist to join a dynamic team at a tertiary care center, to work side-by-side with a highly skilled group of Critical Care Cardiology providers. This multidisciplinary team includes physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), and residents specializing in Cardiology, Critical Care Medicine, Heart Failure, and Interventional Cardiology.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Serve as the dedicated pharmacist for the ECMO unit, contributing to the care of patients with acute cardiogenic shock, advanced heart failure, and temporary MCS.

+ Oversee anticoagulation management for patients receiving mechanical circulatory support (MCS).

+ Manage complex drug-device interactions in ECMO patients, including sedation and antimicrobial therapy.

+ Assist in the selection and dosing of antiarrhythmic medications, particularly in complex clinical scenarios.

+ Provide support for emergency medication needs in the cardiac catheterization lab and hybrid operating rooms.

Professional Expectations:

+ Demonstrate a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.

+ Actively participate in monthly and quarterly CICU educational forums, including Morbidity and Mortality Conferences, Case-Based Discussions, and Acute MCS/ECMO meetings.

+ Play an integral role in the development, review, and implementation of best practices and case analyses.

What qualifications you will need:

+ Current TN Pharmacist licensure or eligible for licensure

+ One-year hospital experience or equivalent Hospital pharmacy residency preferred

+ Excellent communication and computer skills

+ Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date

+ Doctorate Degree, or Bachelors Degree

+ Previous experience in CCU highly desired
