    Finance Associate – Tax Focus

    A leading early-stage investment firm focused on frontier technologies is seeking a Finance Associate with a strong background in tax and fund operations. This is a high-impact role offering exposure to cutting-edge sectors including crypto and AI, while working closely with senior leadership on strategic financial initiatives.

    Position Overview

    The Finance Associate will manage the full tax compliance lifecycle for multiple entities, support fund reporting and audits, and contribute to operational improvements. This role is ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with deep tax expertise and a passion for emerging technologies.

    Key Responsibilities

    Tax Compliance & Strategy

     

    + Oversee tax compliance for funds, general partners, and management entities

    + Review tax returns, K-1s, foreign filings, and estimated tax calculations

    + Coordinate payments and manage relationships with external tax advisors

    + Conduct independent tax research and validate advisor recommendations

    + Respond to investor tax inquiries and lead ad-hoc research projects

     

    Fund & Financial Operations

     

    + Review fund administrator reports and produce quarterly NAV reports

    + Support annual financial statement preparation and audit coordination

    + Track fund performance and investment valuations

    + Assist with capital calls, distributions, and AP management

    + Address finance-related investor inquiries and support strategic projects

    Requirements

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, or related field

    + CPA or equivalent credential required

    + 6+ years of asset management tax experience, including 4+ years in VC/PE

    + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

    + Excellent communication and judgment

    + Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets

    + Experience in tax advisory preferred

    + Passion for crypto, tech, or AI is a plus

    + Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
