Banquet Chef Qualifications

+ Education/Training: Culinary degree or equivalent professional training preferred; food safety and sanitation certification required.

+ Experience:

+ Minimum 3–5 years of progressive kitchen experience, including supervisory or lead cook roles.

+ Previous experience in high-volume banquets, catering, or hotel/resort kitchens strongly preferred.

+ Culinary Skills:

+ Proficient in menu planning, recipe development, and large-scale food production.

+ Strong knowledge of international and regional cuisines, buffet and plated service styles.

+ Ability to maintain consistency, flavor, and presentation across high-volume events.

+ Leadership & Management:

+ Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate a culinary team in a fast-paced environment.

+ Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.

+ Skilled in scheduling, inventory management, ordering, and cost control.

+ Other Requirements:

+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills with front-of-house and event staff.

+ Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by banquet schedules.

Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in hot kitchen environments.
