    Summary:

    Our Burn Surgery and Critical Care team is growing! We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our expanding and innovative team. In this position, the PA will work alongside experienced physician, PA and NP colleagues managing complex and high acuity burn inpatients in our burn intensive care unit, as well as, support our burn consultative teams. The Burn Center at Westchester Medical Center is the only Burn Center between New York City and the Canadian border in Eastern New York, offering hope for survival and a productive life to hundreds of burn victims each year.The Center is also home to the regional Advanced Wound Therapy and Hyperbaric Center, treating burn victims, as well as people with a wide variety of injuries and wounds.

    Responsibilities:

    + Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse burn, trauma and acute care surgical patients.

    + PAs will assist with consults and procedures

    + Provide advanced wound care for burn injuries

    + Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team, inclusive of residents and fellows.

    + Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited to, central line placement/removal

    + Provide supportive care to patients receiving hyperbaric therapy

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    + Candidates must have current and active NCCPA board certification as a Physician Assistant.

    + Current and active NYS PA License, ACLS, and DEA required.

    + Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a practicing clinical PA with a focus in surgery, anesthesia, or critical care management or within a given subspecialty of critical care medicine. Highly motivated new graduates with interest are encouraged to apply.

    + Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
