    Position Highlights

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant provides support in the medical field by performing various medical and clerical activities to assure quality care and a more efficient work place. The Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse serves as a resource nurse who plans, coordinates, evaluates, provides for, and delivers health care services to patients.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

    CMA:

    High school diploma or equivalents. Graduate of an approved school for medical assistants. Certification as a medical assistant within six months of hire.

     

    Minimum of six months previous work experience in a health care facility performing duties related to patient care is preferred.

    LPN/RN:

    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. A current Iowa license as an LPN or RN is required. Six months previous ambulatory care nursing experience preferred.

    All:

    Basic computer and telephone skills preferred.

     

    Strong communication skills required.

     

    Maintain/display professionalism with all patients and coworkers.

     

    Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail, including time management and work flow required.

     

    Must be flexible and adaptable.

     

    Must be willing to accept responsibility and accountability for own actions.

     

    Obtain certificate in BCLS within three months in position.
