Summary You will serve as a NUTRITIONIST in the G-4 DIRECTORATE of MARCORPS NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION. Responsibilities You will provide independent and un-biased assistance, support, and guidance on nutrition and dietary issues, initiatives, policies, and procedures to the Food Service staffs across the Marine Corps. You will develop, administer, promote and evaluate model nutritional and dietary programs. You will aid in establishing major training support systems and policies to be institutionalized and executed in future training missions and operations at early and late stages of the Marines life within the Corps. You will stay abreast with budgetary guidance and procedural requirements in order to assist in monitoring the programmatic developments of other budgets and develop these instrumentalities for the Nutrition and Dietary Programs managed. You will be actively involved in the promotion of health and fitness programs of the DOD, other military services and federal government agencies. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: developing, planning, and managing multifaceted nutrition programs focused on optimizing individual health, performance, and well-being through evidence-based research AND developing and sustaining nutrition programs, policies, and guidelines. Education Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess: Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree in the fields of dietetics, food, nutrition, food service management, institution management, or related science. The educational program must have been accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics(external link) (ACEND), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. For dietitian positions, the curriculum must have been in accordance with the qualifying requirements established by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND)(external link) (formerly American Dietetic Association(external link) (ADA) prior to January 1, 2012) in effect at the time of graduation. OR Completion of a coordinated undergraduate program, internship, or other clinical component approved by AND (formerly ADA) for dietitians or nutritionists. OR Professional registration as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). You will be required to obtain and maintain current professional registration as a Dietitian with American Dietetic Association or possess a current state certification through the Clinical Nutritional Certification Board prior to onboarding.
