This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
This position leads communication, engagement, marketing, and educational efforts for the Office of Transit and Active Transportation’s transit, active transportation, and mobility management programs. The role focuses on increasing public access, awareness, safety, and understanding of these programs. It involves evaluating and improving communication tools and strategies—such as websites, newsletters, and digital platforms—while collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure clear, accessible, and responsive information sharing.
In-state travel – 15% of time.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of professional experience in the following:
+ Experience developing and managing communications or marketing materials—such as websites, newsletters, social media, or public outreach campaigns.
+ Experience engaging with diverse communities or audiences to improve access to information or services.
+ Experience with marketing strategies (campaign planning, audience segmentation, media relations, etc.).
A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related degree may substitute for one year of professional work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience working in or with government agencies or public sector organizations.
+ Experience using analytics tools to evaluate communication effectiveness and inform strategy.
+ Experience working in or with public transit and/or active transportation.
