    Overview

    The Radiologic Technologist II performs diagnostic imaging procedures independently and assists physicians/APCs with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in an acute care setting. This role covers inpatient and outpatient services, emergency room, fluoroscopy, portable exams, and operating room procedures.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare patients and operate radiology equipment to obtain quality diagnostic images

    + Perform inpatient, outpatient, emergency, fluoroscopy, portable, and OR imaging procedures

    + Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure for patients, self, and team members

    + Ensure equipment performance; coordinate maintenance for emergent needs

    + Independently perform radiographic and non-interpretive fluoroscopic procedures (intraoperative, mobile, ERCPs, bronchoscopy, mini C-arms, post-reductions, etc.)

    + Assist licensed practitioners with specialized radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures

    + Conduct mobile imaging including lines, pacers, and neonatal studies

    + Adhere to federal and state radiation safety laws and proper use of monitoring devices

    + Provide safe, compassionate patient care in alignment with Novant Health’s mission and values

    Qualifications

    + Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program (required)

    + ARRT certification in Radiography – RT(R) (required; must be obtained within 6 months of program completion if post-graduate)

    + Applicable state licensure (required)

    + Associate degree in Radiology or related field (preferred)

    + Minimum 1 year diagnostic radiology experience (preferred)
