    General Summary:

    The Program Coordinator I P9, under general supervision, coordinates the planning, development and implementation of the WT AmeriCorps program with Academic & Regional Collaboration. Position is responsible for promoting programs and facilitating recruitment of AmeriCorps participants and partners. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating communication and marketing the WT AmeriCorps program as well as building regional networks. The coordinator will support overall success of the unit and the AmeriCorps program, working in close collaboration with internal and external constituents, including department staff, to drive impact, build sustainability, and meet determined outcomes. Position will work on campus as well as remotely/in the field. Some travel and evening and weekend work required.

    Responsibilities:

    + Assists in developing, planning, coordinating, and monitoring strategic plans and goals to support program and meet goals and objectives.

    + Monitors and maintains compliance with regulatory bodies, policies, and procedures.

    + Develops, implements, and maintains strategies for recruitment of partners and member candidates across the region.

    + Monitors member and partner applicants and applications.

    + Coordinates applicant screening, interviews, and selection.

    + Assists with member enrollment and onboarding.

    + Assists with engaging partners and participate in partner check-ins to monitor needs, address issues, and problem-solve to ensure positive outcomes, and help coach sites for success.

    + Plans and coordinates the communication and branding strategies, annual marketing plan, public relations, and communication plans and timelines.

    + Maintains the creative campaign to market services provided by the department. Coordinates program communications and marketing.

    + Promotes programs and projects by participating in various events and activities

    + Coordinates with staff and partners to develop and update training materials and deliver or participate in training sessions.

    + Coordinates, plans, and implements program events as well as program participation in events such as national service days, conferences, trainings, meetings, workshops, and fairs.

    + Develops content for annual reports, sponsorships, brochures, flyers, news releases, newsletters, posters and presentations, social media and web site.

    + Assists with press briefings, media interviews, advertising, promotional activities, and special events.

    + Responds to inquiries regarding program services and offerings and engage prospective stakeholders.

    + Assists Director and other staff to maintain relationships with partners, members, media, and stakeholders.

    + Helps monitor and maintain program records and databases.

    + Tracks and compiles program statistics pertaining to performance measures, outcomes, marketing, and recruitment.

    + Effectively captures information on activities by utilizing systems and procedures to report findings back to program staff and partners along with recommendations and protocols to improve on-going recruitment, engagement, and retention efforts and meet program outcomes.

    + Maintains 100% compliance with timely completion of required System, University and job-specific online training courses

    Necessary Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.

    + Two (2) years of experience in program or project coordination, communications, marketing, public relations, recruitment, or similar field.

    + Adept at social media. Ability to organize information for effective presentation and present to virtual and in-person groups.

    + Position requires superior interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

    + Proven ability to multi-task, set priorities, track projects, and meet deadlines.

    + Ability to use discretion, sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality.

    + Ability to work in a professional, fast-paced environment with individuals and groups from a variety of backgrounds and levels of experience.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required.

    + Must be a disciplined self-starter who is goal-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

    + Problem-solving and analytical skills required.

    + Strong relationship building skills and follow through.

    + Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.

    + Ability to synthesize data and compile reports.

    + Able to adapt, be flexible, and maintain a positive work environment.

    + Able to travel to various communities across Texas Panhandle.

    + Some evening and weekend work required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Master’s degree in related field

    + Four (4) years of experience with AmeriCorps or Peace Corps. Community Outreach & strategic communication.

    + Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and basic graphic design.

    + Knowledge of High Plains/Texas Panhandle region, demographics, and issues facing rural and micropolitan communities.

    + A strong desire to engage and effect positive outcomes in the region.
