Description:

Come join the Engineering team at Saint Francis Hospital, part of Trinity Health Of New England! We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family, bringing compassionate care to our communities.

Position Purpose:

Performs a variety of duties in and around the buildings of the Hospital complex in an effort to maintain Plant Operations 24/7. Duties include repairs or reporting problems with machinery, systems and mechanical equipment, heating , ventilation equipment, air conditioning, refrigeration systems, kitchen equipment, PEVCO , Honeywell , and Fire Alarm Systems. Must be able to make timely decisions acting as Off Shift Supervisor for the Director of Engineering and the Manager of Engineering Services.

+ Assists in operating and maintaining all Hospital mechanical systems and equipment.

+ Maintains commitment to personal growth and competency.

+ Contributes to the safe operation of the Plant and Engineering Department.

+ Contributes to the efficient operation of the department.

+ Contributes to the effective operations of the Hospital by demonstrating dependability in job performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

+ Education: Two year apprenticeship or Equivalent

+ Experience: 3-5 Years General mechanical experience

+ Licensure: D-2 or S-2 License (preferred)

Mental and Physical Effort:

+ Physical effort is required. Some lifting is involved. Work positions include standing, kneeling and climbing. Moderate stress encountered in emergency situations. Position requires ability to frequently push/pull/lift objects more than 100 lbs., perform difficult manipulative, gross body and hand-eye coordination skills; bend, walk, stand and sit for prolonged periods; see objects closely and hear normal sounds with some background noises.

+ Precautions must be taken when working around equipment or troubleshooting systems. Employee may frequently be exposed to high, low and sudden fluctuations in temperature; grease and oil; bodily injuries; loud noises and high humidity or wetness.
