    POSITION STANDARDS

    * Bachelors’ degree in accounting or business preferred.

    * Three to five years of bookkeeping experience required; candidate should have a working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and depreciation, cash flow planning and financial statement preparation.

    * Experience with accounting software required, with ability to learn new software.

    * Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

    * Ability to organize multiple tasks within deadlines in an autonomous manner is essential.

    * Must be self-directed.

    * Must have ability to create financial models and projections, and provide analysis.

    PART TWO:FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY

    *

    Position Objective

    *

     

    Manages/performs accounting functions and preparation of reports and statistics detailing financial results for Lifecare operations. Establishes and maintains accounting practices to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations of Lifecare facilities.

     

    *

     

    Performance Expectation

     

    *

     

    * Responsible for accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

    * Compile necessary data and assist Department Heads and Administration in preparation of annual budget and analysis of monthly variance reports.

    * Preparation of monthly closing entries on an accrual basis.

    * Proactively review monthly financial statements for discrepancies in revenue and expenses vs. budget.

    * Reconcile general ledger accounts to source documents on a monthly basis.

    * Manage work and performance of Accounting Assistant.

    * Maintain accurate resident account records and manage monthly resident billing being available to answer resident questions when then arise.

    * Calculate refunds due to residents upon termination of resident contracts in accordance with the resident-specific contract terms.

    * Manage resident move-ins, move-outs, and transfers in financial system.

    * Ensure accurate classification of Lifecare expenditures.

    * Maintain financial records of the organization in financial system on a current and consistent basis.

    * Prepare forecasts and modeling of initiatives under consideration. Advise as to financial impact of options. Develop measures designed to ensure financial health.

    * Maintain fixed asset detail in the Fixed Asset Manager System and calculate monthly depreciation and amortization for the monthly close.

    * Prepare data and information for tax purposes or other governmental returns/inquiries.

    * Special projects as needed/required.score

    * Prepare all materials necessary for completion of year end fiscal audit and work with Health System audit firm to resolve any concerns within the timeframe established by the audit firm. Work in conjunction with the Hospital fiscal services staff for any year end intercompany activity.

    * Provide financial training and support for organization administrators and department heads as needs arise.

    * Analyze resident financials to determine eligibility for admission and for financial assistance.

    * Track charitable gifts and fund balances.

    * Reconcile bank accounts monthly.

    * Manage assignment of training modules to new staff upon hire and to all staff on an annual basis. Provide reports to department heads to ensure compliance in all training.

    * Maintain a positive and professional environment during interactions with all staff, residents, and families.
