Position Responsibilities:
Build tools that automate and streamline processes to make fleet operations more efficient. Respond to large scale events involving these fleets. Diagnose and fix critical software and system failures. Serve as a mentor and resource to other engineers and assist in training new engineers. Provide first line of defense daytime support for operational tickets for all software development teams within the organization. Propose, architect, drive and implement complex technical solutions for automation, efficiency and
scalability. Partner with the software development teams to support corporate infrastructure systems and perform database queries (SQL) using Window, Linux, or Unix based operating systems and SQL Server databases. Provide support and technical consultation to Amazon internal customers.
Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered, as a Software Developer, or a related occupation. Must have five (5) years of experience in the following skills: 1) with systems design and software development, operations, automation and process improvement; 2) designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems; 3) deploying and operating in a Linux or Unix environment; and 4) programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, Ruby, or related.
