    Job Title: Fabrication Finishing Specialist Department : Sheet Metal Fabrication Classification: FLSA-Non-Exempt

     

    Job Family: Sheet Metal Fabrication Date: 09.29.2025 Reports to : Sheet Metal Fabrication Supervisor

    Travel: 0% Employment Type : Hourly Expected Work Hours: 40

    + The Fabrication Finishing Specialist is responsible for separating and organizing cut metal parts, ensuring accuracy against blueprints, and preparing components for the next stage of production. This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and safe operation of forklifts and other machinery.

    Accountabilities:

    + Separate laser- or plasma-cut parts from skeletons and remove tabs as needed.

    + Read and interpret blueprints to identify, verify, and organize parts accurately.

    + Maintain clear labeling and organization of components for downstream operations.

    + Safely operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment to move and stage parts.

    + Inspect parts for quality and report any discrepancies or defects.

    + Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.

    Required Knowledge/Experience:

    + High school diploma or equivalent required.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

    + Experience operating a forklift (certification preferred or willingness to obtain).

    + Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with fabrication processes a plus.

    + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

    + Ability to lift up to 75+ lbs and stand for extended periods.

    Work Environment and Physical Demands

    + FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays)

    + This role will be in office setting, however frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards.

    + Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs.

    + Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.

    + Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards.

    + Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
