Job Title: Mixer Operator
Job Description
The Mixer Operator is responsible for producing batches of material in line with specific customer and company specifications. This role involves weighing materials, maintaining a clean mixing area, and troubleshooting any mixing issues that arise. Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.
Responsibilities
+ Review the Mixing Schedule and produce batches accordingly.
+ Inspect reconditioned drums prior to use and dump batches from mixers.
+ Communicate with previous mixer operators to discuss any irregularities or special instructions.
+ Follow the Mixing Procedure to produce standard production batches.
+ Notify Group Leader and QA of any abnormalities, such as suspect non-conforming raw materials or equipment malfunctions.
+ Maintain correct identification on batches and complete necessary paperwork accurately and on time.
+ Inform the Manager of any safety, maintenance, or identification concerns.
+ Keep work area clean and run processes to maximize product quality and output.
+ Ensure safety apparatuses are in place and use the oldest lots of raw materials first (FIFO).
+ Handle hazardous waste, perform real-time reporting in SAP, and communicate effectively with team members.
+ Perform inspections and tests on drums and batches and operate a forklift.
+ Train new Mixer Operator Trainees and make trial batches for Research & Development and Product Development if designated as an 'A' Mixer Operator.
Essential Skills
+ 1-3 years of experience in mixing, batching, and chemical handling.
+ Experience with machine operation and blending.
+ Ability to lift up to 60lbs repeatedly and work in environments with strong odors.
+ Capability to pass skills key test and audiogram test.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High School diploma or GED equivalent.
+ Prior industrial cleaning or housekeeping experience is beneficial.
+ Forklift experience is optional but preferred.
+ Chemical manufacturing experience is advantageous.

Work Environment
Work within a climate-controlled chemical plant, primarily focused on automotive material production. Expect exposure to manufacturing operations, including moving equipment, noise, fumes, vibrations, and dust. Reasonable accommodations are made for individuals with disabilities. Shifts are available across three schedules, with potential for weekend work and overtime based on business needs. Safety PPE, including steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, respirators, gloves, and earbuds, is provided.

This is a Contract position based out of Evansville, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.25 - $23.25/hr.
