Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team in a heavy industrial setting. The role involves fitting and fabricating structural steel components, performing precise layouts, and utilizing various welding and fabrication equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Fit and fabricate structural steel components.

+ Perform precise layout and fitting of parts per drawings, specifications, and tolerances.

+ Conduct Flux Core Welding in compliance with shop drawings/blueprints.

+ Operate welding and fabrication equipment, including air carbon arc gouging, grinders, cutting torches, and welding tractors.

Essential Skills

+ Minimum of 2+ years of fitting experience in a heavy industrial setting with structural steel.

+ Proficiency in Flux Core Welding with the ability to pass the AWS D1.1 3G weld test using FCAW.

+ Strong ability to interpret shop drawings and specifications independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Familiarity with multiple welding processes (FCAW, SAW, GTAW) is a plus.

+ Experience in an AISC-certified shop environment is preferred.

+ Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds.

+ High School Diploma or GED preferred; technical or trade school certifications are a plus.

Work Environment

This position is based in a heavy industrial steel fabrication facility that is not climate controlled. The team consists of 57 members at the Coatesville site, including 20-25 welders along with fitters and fabricators. The dress code includes coveralls, jeans without rips, t-shirts or sweatshirts, and steel-toed boots. The work hours are Monday-Friday from 5 am to 3:30 pm. Personal protective equipment such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and respirators are required.

This is a Contract position based out of Coatesville, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
