We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Engineering Technologist to join our team as a Lab Technician in the beautiful mountains of NC. This position focuses on supporting electrical engineering functions, including troubleshooting, programming, and testing of innovative power electronics software functionality. The role involves designing development tests, creating and managing test fixtures, operating and maintaining electronic test equipment, conducting technical analysis of test results, reading schematics, and debugging electronic prototype products.
Responsibilities
+ Perform Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing and operate advanced test equipment such as oscilloscopes and related devices.
+ Troubleshoot and develop test systems using LabVIEW.
+ Conduct functional testing and utilize soldering tools to diagnose and repair circuit issues.
+ Interpret and analyze circuit boards and electrical schematics.
+ Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement effective testing protocols.
+ Maintain, calibrate, and ensure the accuracy of laboratory test equipment.
+ Document test procedures, results, and provide comprehensive reports to engineering stakeholders.
+ Develop, implement, and maintain automated test systems using NI Test Stand and resolve issues related to test systems and equipment.
+ Prepare technical documentation for engineered systems to support both internal teams and external clients.
Essential Skills
+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in a test lab or similar technical environment.
+ Associate degree in a relevant field required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or Electrical Engineering strongly preferred.
+ Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles and test methodologies.
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
+ Hands-on experience with LabVIEW programming and troubleshooting.
+ Familiarity with EMI testing and operation of equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, function generators, signal generators, and data generators.
+ Skilled in using soldering irons and diagnosing circuit-level issues.
+ Experience in functional testing and circuit analysis.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Power conversion experience, including DC to DC converter design.
+ Simulation tool experience such as SPICE, LTspice, PLECS, MATLAB/SIMULINK is a plus.
+ Certifications such as UL, IEC, or MIL-STD.
+ Experience with EMI/EMC compliance, repair, hardware, electronics, calibration, prototype, and circuit board soldering.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.
