    Job Title: Temporary Quality Manager - 6 month contract

    Job Description

    The Quality Manager is responsible for developing the quality strategy, policies, processes, standards, and systems for the company and its supply chain. This role involves ensuring compliance with the Quality Management System, including ISO 9001, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and implement the Management Systems strategy and management arrangements for key milestones.

    + Ensure ongoing compliance with the Quality Management System (ISO 9001).

    + Contribute to new business initiatives and projects, reviewing and communicating the impact on Quality Management Systems.

    + Manage external registration requirements and liaise with external bodies on registration matters.

    + Implement relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System.

    + Update, revise, and modify in-house systems and procedures to meet external certification bodies' needs.

    + Ensure systems and procedures satisfy all customer requirements and audits.

    + Introduce new systems and procedures where appropriate.

    + Train others in quality system aspects and application of procedures.

    + Undertake regular internal and process audits of the QMS.

    + Ensure corrective actions address nonconformities found.

    + Verify closure of nonconformities with Certification Bodies.

    + Hold regular audit performance meetings and manage the audit nonconformity database.

    + Provide detailed analysis of nonconformities and develop KPIs for each area of responsibility.

    + Report on achievement of targets and identify required actions.

    + Promote high standards through personal example and team communication.

    + Comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies.

    + Contribute to creating a positive team atmosphere and overcoming obstacles.

    + Follow the Group Code of Conduct and Group Compliance Policy.

    Essential Skills

    + Excellent leadership and management skills.

    + High level of interpersonal skills with a customer/client focus.

    + Flexibility and excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

    + Strong organizational and follow-up skills.

    + Competency in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision-making.

    + Attention to detail.

    + 5-7 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, and process improvement.

    + Experience with ISO 9001 and internal auditing.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + High school diploma or GED, Bachelor's degree in a related field, or five years of related experience in a manufacturing environment.

    + Openness to travel up to 20% per year.

    + Hands-on experience with manufacturing and union environments.

    + Root cause analysis skills.

    + Experience dealing with customers and suppliers.

    + Industry experience and exposure to managing a union environment.

    + Detailed understanding of ISO 9001.

    Work Environment

    This position operates in a clerical, office setting with standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The role requires occasional travel to company locations in Florida, California, and a new plant in Little Rock, Arkansas, up to 20% annually. Protective eyewear and steel-toed boots are mandatory in warehouse areas. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 40-hour workweek minimum.

    This is a Contract position based out of Bristol, Connecticut.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $52.00/hr.
