    Job Title: New Model Engineer Job Description

     

    This role focuses on design, equipment, and manufacturing feasibility and simulation, supporting the Weld New Model Equipment team. You will analyze drawings from feasibility through the design phase to achieve a product manufacturable within factory capabilities, working with MMCs to prepare and execute the trial phase of new model development. You will complete tasks and targets given by the Group Lead and project leadership.

    Responsibilities

    + Support feasibility studies and detailed confirmations of new technologies, design concepts, and manufacturing processes, and report internally.

    + Identify past model problem history and suggest countermeasures based on best practices.

    + Collaborate internally to develop the most efficient manufacturing process.

    + Ensure a robust design for mass production by combining manufacturing requirements, factory characteristics, and project targets. Verify development through 3D data.

    + Create and maintain all necessary documents for process, quality, robot/equipment, and training during New Model development.

    + Support the physical verification of the vehicle during initial production at the factory, understanding factory capabilities and constraints.

    + Engage in collaborative problem-solving with team members and enhance personal capabilities through training and experience sharing.

    Work Environment

    The role involves working on a team of about 64 engineers in the PEDx team within an R&D environment and on-site at plants. The position offers a long-term consultancy-to-hire opportunity with a reputable automotive company.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Marysville, Ohio.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
