Quality Technician
Join a growing team at a leading manufacturer of specialty insulation materials! As a Quality Technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring
the integrity and performance of solid insulating products through hands-on testing, inspection, and documentation. This role combines laboratory work with
manufacturing floor collaboration and offers the opportunity to contribute to product excellence and process improvement.
Compensation: $26/hour | 6-Month Contract (Open-Ended)
Industry: Specialty Insulation Materials (Electrical & Electronics)
Shift:
+ Training: 1st Shift | Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM–3:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (for 2–3 weeks)
+ Regular: 2nd Shift | Monday–Friday | 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
+ Inspect and test raw materials, in-process intermediates, and finished goods to verify compliance with internal and customer specifications.
+ Conduct physical, chemical, and performance-based testing using lab instruments and standardized procedures.
+ Record and report test results with precision, following internal quality protocols and documentation standards.
+ Participate in quality improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams.
+ Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues.
+ Maintain and calibrate testing equipment, and perform basic troubleshooting to ensure accurate results.
+ Communicate findings to cross-functional teams to support quality assurance and process control.
Technical & Functional Skills
+ Inspection & Measurement Techniques: Proficient in visual and dimensional inspections using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision tools. Able to assess product conformity and detect defects.
+ Quality Control & Assurance: Knowledge of quality control principles such as sampling plans, control charts, and defect tracking. Familiar with quality assurance practices that ensure product reliability and consistency.
+ Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving: Skilled in identifying and analyzing the causes of quality issues using structured methods like 5 Whys, Pareto analysis, and cause-and-effect diagrams.
+ Quality Management Systems (QMS): Experience working within ISO-compliant or similar quality systems. Able to follow documented procedures and contribute to audits and corrective actions.
+ Materials Testing: Hands-on experience with testing procedures for polymers, composites, or other insulating materials. Comfortable with physical and chemical testing in a lab setting.
+ Documentation & Data Integrity: Strong skills in maintaining accurate records, entering data into quality systems, and preparing reports that meet regulatory and internal standards.
+ Manufacturing Process Knowledge: Familiarity with production workflows and how quality assurance integrates with operations to prevent defects and improve efficiency.
+ Process Improvement: Ability to identify inefficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts using lean manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
Additional Skills
+ Blueprint Reading: Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to guide inspection and testing activities.
+ Lab Testing Procedures: Knowledge of lab safety protocols, sample preparation, and standardized testing methods.
+ Cross-Functional Communication: Effective communicator who can relay technical findings to production, engineering, and R&D teams.
Qualifications
+ Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (Chemical, Materials, Mechanical preferred)
+ Experience in quality, manufacturing, or laboratory environments
+ Familiarity with chemical/materials testing and basic lab procedures
+ Proficiency in spreadsheets, document control systems, and quality data systems
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr.
