    We are seeking a detail-driven Designer Drafter based in Salem, OR, or nearby, who thrives in SolidWorks and is passionate about creating high-quality electrical and structural designs that support critical infrastructure.     Responsibilities

    + Create detailed electrical and structural designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

    + Collaborate with engineering teams to refine layouts and meet project goals.

    + Ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards.

    + Maintain documentation and complete quality checks.

    + Contribute to process improvements and R&D initiatives.

    + Mentor junior drafters and designers.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of SolidWorks experience in a drafting/design capacity, including experience gained in an associate's program.

    + Proficient in AutoCAD.

    + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset.

    + Ability to work independently and communicate within cross-functional teams.

    + Associate’s degree in drafting/design or related field (Bachelor’s degree is a plus).

    + Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to sharing updates and collaborating.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in utilities or engineering drafting/design.

    + Ability to demonstrate creative and critical thinking on the job.

    + Candidates with transmission electrical experience or strong SolidWorks skills are preferred.

    + Ability to quickly learn new tools and apply skills across different platforms.

    + Preference towards those who can resolve issues independently and adapt to new challenges.

    Work Environment

    This is an in-office position 5 days a week, with schedule flexibility including early start and shift times. There is a possibility for a hybrid work model after the initial 90-day period, contingent on performance and proficiency with SolidWorks. The team consists of 9 people, fostering a community environment with a focus on positivity and collaboration.     This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Salem, Oregon.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr.
