Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated AutoCAD Technician to join our team in Indianapolis. This full-time position involves collaborating with Fire Protection Engineers and Building Code Consultants to document fire and life safety features using AutoCAD. The role primarily focuses on healthcare projects in Indiana and Ohio, with occasional work in surrounding states.

Responsibilities

+ Create and modify drawings under the supervision of the CAD Manager.

+ Add symbols, text, and details to drawings as specified by engineers.

+ Ensure accuracy and attention to detail in all drawings.

+ Multitask and manage several projects simultaneously.

+ Maintain reliable attendance and adhere to the assigned work schedule.

+ Perform AutoCAD work, including adding polycolor lines and updating symbols to align with fire protection design and building codes.

+ Make minor adjustments to designs, such as door locations and openings, to comply with codes.

+ Assist in organizing internal documents and files related to building codes and fire protection designs.

Essential Skills

+ Technical proficiency in AutoCAD.

+ Strong attention to detail.

+ Ability to follow detailed instructions accurately and consistently.

+ Experience with fire protection drafting and building codes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with polycolor lines in AutoCAD.

+ Long-term potential to advance to CAD Manager role in approximately 5 years.

Work Environment

The position is based in a standard office environment, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The office is conveniently located on the west side of Indianapolis, near major roadways.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $31.25/hr.
