Job Title: Facilities Assessment Consultant Job Description
We are seeking ten Facilities Assessment Consultants to join our rapidly growing team, especially focusing on projects on the West Coast. These consultants will primarily support University projects across the country, requiring travel up to 50% of the time. Typically, the role involves spending one week in the field and the subsequent week working remotely from home.
Responsibilities
+ Review documentation during inspections, including drawings, blueprints, and maintenance logs.
+ Conduct building system inspections through visual assessments of facilities, evaluating the physical conditions of HVAC and MEP systems.
+ Collaborate closely with facility management to gather necessary information.
+ Utilize iPads for data collection and documentation of findings.
+ Create estimates for identified replacement parts or components.
+ Ensure accurate documentation of findings when not in the field.
+ Collaborate with partners to ensure consistent documentation.
+ Use VFA software to develop cost estimates for facility replacement costs and corrective measures.
+ Document findings using VFA's web-based software and other applications.
+ Perform visual inspections of facilities, including sustainability evaluations.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Facility/Construction Management.
+ Minimum of 2 years experience in facility assessment, inspection, operations, design, construction, or property management.
+ Specialization in mechanical, electrical, or architectural inspections and assessments.
+ Knowledge of building codes and standards for existing buildings.
+ Experience in conducting quantity surveys and estimating replacement values using RS Means or similar data.
+ Proficiency with computers and mobile devices, including Microsoft Office and web browsers.
+ Physical ability to walk and inspect large complexes, climb ladders and stairs.
+ Ability to travel nationally and occasionally internationally, up to 50%.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Technical certifications, professional registrations, and government clearance are a plus.
+ Multi-discipline knowledge, including architectural, structural, mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing), electrical, and site utilities is advantageous.
Work Environment
This role involves national travel, requiring open availability to travel 50% of the time. Travel expenses, including food and lodging, are covered during business days. The work schedule generally involves one week on-site followed by one week of remote work from home. The team is dynamic and diverse, providing opportunities to work in varied environments, including zoos, airports, hospitals, schools, and historic government buildings.

This is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
