Job Title: Firmware Engineer

Job Description

Join our dynamic team to work on an existing code base, which you will need to learn, understand, and carefully update to meet new requirements and deliver innovative capabilities. You will engage in pure bare metal development, which involves C programming, and requires excellent debugging skills with hardware. This role does not involve embedded Linux or RTOS, but rather focuses on low-level bare metal development.

Responsibilities

+ Understand and modify an existing code base to address new requirements.

+ Develop new capabilities in bare metal environments using C programming.

+ Perform extensive debugging with hardware and device drivers.

+ Collaborate with team members during daily scrums and weekly development discussions.

+ Contribute to the design and development of new architectures for instrumentation and embedded systems.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in firmware development with Embedded C.

+ Strong debugging skills in pure bare metal environments.

+ Experience with device driver and kernel programming.

+ Familiarity with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.

+ BS in Engineering or related field.

+ 5+ years of professional experience preferred, but candidates with 2-3 years will be considered if they meet the requirements and are quick learners.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with Embedded Linux build systems such as Yocto.

+ Ability to produce technical design documentation.

+ Experience reading schematics.

+ Experience working in the water quality industry is a plus.

Work Environment

The role is predominantly on-site with a requirement to be present four days a week, offering a flexible Friday. The work environment consists of a large campus with a vibrant, collaborative atmosphere, akin to a college senior design project, but on a grand scale. The company boasts a diverse and inclusive culture and focuses on in-house manufacturing and development. You will be working in close-knit teams across various engineering disciplines, with a large part of the work involving in-house resources like EMC and HALT chambers, and production/manufacturing facilities. Daily scrums and collaborative troubleshooting are integral parts of the workday, fostering an environment where innovation and professional growth are encouraged.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Loveland, Colorado.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $80.00/hr.
