    Job Title: Quality Control Laboratory Technician

    Job Description

    The Quality Control Laboratory Technician performs testing of raw materials, in-process samples, final products, validation-related items, and critical utility samples. The testing involves various attributes such as bioburden, microbial enumeration, bacterial endotoxin, sterility, biological indicators, total organic carbon (TOC), and nitrate levels.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct bioburden testing, microbial enumeration, and objectionable organism testing.

    + Perform bacterial endotoxin and sterility testing.

    + Carry out biological indicator and TOC testing.

    + Undertake nitrate testing.

    + Read plates from environmental monitoring and media fills.

    + Perform growth promotion and sterility assurance testing on incoming materials.

    + Conduct microbial identification and Gram staining.

    + Autoclave materials required for testing.

    + Clean biological safety cabinets (BSCs) and chambers periodically.

    + Enter results into electronic systems such as LES (electronic notebook) and LIMS.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in laboratory techniques and aseptic methods.

    + Experience in cleanroom and pharmaceutical environments.

    + Knowledge of GMP and quality control standards.

    + Experience in microbiology, bioburden, and endotoxin testing.

    + Understanding of USP/BP/JP and EP standards.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

    + Experience in a GMP setting with GDP practices.

    + A BS degree in a relevant field and some industry experience.

    + Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed.

    Work Environment

    The role is based 100% on-site in a laboratory environment. The standard work schedule is Monday to Friday, 1st shift, with occasional requirements to work nights and weekends for sample processing. Routine hours are typically 8am to 5pm, with one weekend required every two months depending on testing needs. Evening rotations occur one weekend every five months, based on sample testing requirements.

    This is a long term contract position based out of La Verne, California.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
