    Manufacturing Engineer

    Job Description

    The primary function of this role is to provide technical expertise for solving mechanical and automated process issues and to act as a key contact for the processes to communicate updates and meet production deliverables. The position serves as a bridge between maintenance, die shop, controls engineering, and process engineering, supporting the improvement of plant metrics and any current or upcoming new model launch activities.

    Responsibilities

    + Lead continuous improvements and provide technical expertise in solving process problems.

    + Troubleshoot equipment and part defects, implementing corrective actions quickly and effectively.

    + Manage process documentation, including work instructions and setup instructions.

    + Optimize manufacturing processes to improve quality and material flow while reducing cycle times.

    + Collaborate with the launch team during the development and launch of new equipment, tooling, and processes.

    + Provide training for new and modified processes.

    Essential Skills

    + 1-3 years of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in the automotive industry.

    + Strong skills in manufacturing engineering, robotics, and troubleshooting.

    + Experience in process/continuous improvement, equipment troubleshooting, process documentation, and tooling.

    + Ability to articulate projects previously managed in a plant setting.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Experience troubleshooting and improving automated processes including PLCs, Vision, and Robotics.

    + Proficiency with PLCs (Omron, Mitsubishi, Siemens) and Robots/Cobots (FANUC, ABB, Motoman).

    + Vision system knowledge, preferably with KEYENCE.

    + Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics preferred.

    + Experience in a maintenance role with lead responsibilities and project management in a plant.

    Work Environment

    The candidate will initially work on the 1st shift and, once acclimated, transition to the 2nd shift. The environment involves troubleshooting mechanical back folder issues, ultrasonic welders, and setting up KEYENCE sensors, along with adjustments and setups for robots and co-bots. The role offers a balanced work-life with holidays and vacation time, bill back applicable.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
