    Join our team as a Surveyor, where you will perform complex survey measurements and computations, ensuring precision and accuracy in all tasks. This role involves operating and checking survey equipment, interpreting control point records, and conducting geophysical prospecting to designate non-complex underground utility layouts.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform Survey Field Tech I and II functions.

    + Conduct complex survey measurements and computations, including field note reduction.

    + Operate, check, and perform basic field adjustments on survey equipment.

    + Use, obtain, and interpret control point records and locate them in the field.

    + Select and apply appropriate geophysical prospecting equipment for accurate utility layout designation.

    + Comprehend and interpret utility and highway design plans, atlases, and record drawings.

    + Perform minor maintenance and troubleshoot operating problems on vacuum systems and vehicles.

    + Complete paperwork, including record-keeping and simple mathematics, legibly and accurately.

    + Clean and maintain vehicles, work sites, and equipment.

    + Perform related duties such as making basic field measurements and conducting geophysical prospecting as instructed.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in land surveying, topographic surveys, and boundary surveys.

    + Experience with location design surveys, construction staking, and as-built surveys.

    + Operation of total stations and utilization of GPS receivers.

    + Experience with robotic total stations and Trimble and Carlson data collectors.

    + Knowledge of site layout, civil site design, and site development.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma/GED required.

    + Valid driver's license.

    + Three years of experience as a survey crew member or a minimum of one year as a Survey Field Tech II, or a Bachelor’s degree in Surveying with at least six months as a Survey Field Tech III.

    + Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.

    + Comfortable with less experienced candidates willing to learn and demonstrate a strong work ethic.

    Work Environment

    Work in an outdoor environment in all climates, with travel required and potential for extensive travel. Overtime is available as needed. The office is based in Fort Mill, in a recently moved-in building housing about 30 people. The typical working hours are from 7 am to 5 pm, with overtime opportunities.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Tega Cay, South Carolina.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $65000.00/yr.
